MEDIA ADVISORY
Media Day at Lester B. Pearson International Airport

PLEASE NOTE: - The following information is intended for the use of MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES covering the Canadian International Air Show ONLY.  YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION of such.  Interested media MUST pre-register, as the planes will be parked on Pearson’s active grounds requiring all media to be registered and escorted onto the property. If you want to come out, use the contact information below.

THIS EVENT IS NOT INTENDED FOR PUBLIC VIEWING and the general public will NOT BE ADMITTED

MEDIA DAY Thursday, August 29, 2002 At Lester B. Pearson Airport

What: The Canadian International Air Show will be holding a Media Day at Lester B. Pearson International Airport offering media the opportunity to interview performing pilots and crews.

Timing of the events are as follows:

  • 11:30 am Arrival of the CF Snowbird Team

  • 11:45 - 13:00 Over the wing interviews with the members of the Snowbird team

  • 13:00 Arrival of the RAF Red Arrows Team

  • 13:30 Snowbirds greet the RAF Red Arrows

  • 13:30 Over the wing interviews with the members of the Red Arrows

  • 15:30 Mike Bullard flies with the Snowbirds

  • 16:00 Arrival of the CF 18 Hornet (tentative)

  • 16:00 Conclusion of media day

  • Media may remain if they wish for the return of Mike Bullard

* Note: Media will be permitted in the cockpits of both the Red Arrows and Snowbird Teams. It is important to wear comfortable clothing. No open toed shoes are allowed.

Where: De-icing facility, Lester B. Pearson Airport East off Dixie Road on Britannia Road. Go to Central De-icing building, 1st building on the right after you are on Airport property

When: Thursday August 29, 2002 Approximately 11am to 1600
(Times to be confirmed closer to event, please check with office)

Please note, only Modern Military aircraft are stationed at Lester B. Pearson Airport. Civilian aircraft will not be in attendance as they are located at Toronto City Centre Airport.
