Canadian International Air Show
Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of the CNE

Toronto, Ontario, August, 2003 - The Canadian International Air Show, the Grand Finale of the Canadian National Exhibition and one of Canada’s premier aviation demonstrations, is proud to announce the addition of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Canadian International Exhibition.
The USAF Thunderbirds are scheduled to perform in Quebec City on August 30th & 31st, 2003 but will travel to Toronto for a special performance on Monday September 1st, 2003. “We are very excited to have the USAF Thunderbirds join us in celebrating this very special occasion. We are also celebrating the 100th anniversary of powered flight with an exciting demonstration of aircraft from every era,” explained Bob MacWilliam, President, Canadian International Air Show.

Based out of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, the Thunderbirds are the United States Air Force’s six plane air demonstration Squadron flying the F-16 Fighting Falcons.
The second recent addition to the Air Show line up includes the Canadian Forces new Air Force jet trainer, the CT-155 Hawk. It is considered one of the most advanced trainers ever built capable of performing a wide range of combat missions.

The Canadian International Air Show takes place Labour Day weekend, August 30th, August 31st and September 1st, 2003 over Lake Ontario, south of the CNE grounds. All shows begin at 1:00 p.m. and are free with admission to the CNE.
