CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW CELEBRATES
100TH ANNIVERSARY OF POWERED FLIGHT

The 54th annual Canadian International Air Show will be marking this historic milestone of the 20th century at the 125th anniversary of the Canadian National Exhibition. Patrons will experience aircraft from World War One right up to the high-powered jet aircraft of today.

Hear the thunder overhead as you encounter the power and majesty from two of the top aviation demonstration teams in the world as they perform amazing feats of aerial ballet over the CNE Waterfront.

Take a trip down memory lane as a Lancaster bomber, Supermarine Spitfire and a P51 Mustang awe the crowd. The “Lanc” is one of only two flying in the world and is named in honour of Pilot Officer Andrew Mynarski, winner of the prestigious Victoria Cross.

Plug your ears and crane your necks skywards as the United States Air Force Thunderbirds scream past overhead. Be amazed at the precision and grace of the Canadian Forces demonstration team, the world famous Snowbirds.

Performing before millions of air show spectators each year, U.S. Aerobatic Champion Patty Wagstaff flies one of the most thrilling aerobatic presentations in the world today. Patty gives the audience a front row seat to the precision and complexity of modern aerobatics. Witness a “day at the office” with Sean D. Tucker in his ORACLE CHALLENGER as he goes through more G-forces than a pilot experiences in a jet aircraft - a pummeling +10 to -7.5 G’s. His practices alone are one of the most grueling and physically demanding workouts ever. It’s a performance you’ll never forget.

Members of the Canadian Forces 424 Squadron will demonstrate live search and rescue techniques from the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. Bid a fond farewell to the CH-113 Labrador helicopter appearing for the final time at the Canadian International Air Show and welcome Canada’s newest Search and Rescue helicopter, the CH-149 Cormorant.

Take a flight through history this Labour Day weekend. There is much to experience at the 54th Canadian International Air Show taking place over the CNE Waterfront August 30th, 31st and September 1st.
