2005 Canadian International Air Show celebrates the “The Year of the Veteran”  

(Toronto, August 2005) -- Toronto’s 56th annual Canadian International Air Show will be one to remember. It will feature the Canadian Forces CF-18, Canada’s Search & Rescue Griffon Helicopter and Canada’s premier demonstration team, the Snowbirds. There will be historical military aircraft from all eras. WWII aircraft – the B17 Flying Fortress “Memphis Belle”, P-51 Mustang “Bald Eagle”, and on Monday only, the Avro Lancaster from the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum. The 1950’s represented by a Russian Built MIG 17, the 1960’s and 70’s  by a Canadian Built CF-104 Starfighter.  One act not to be missed is the US Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon Tactical Demonstration Team , who will delight the crowds with their thunderous sound as they scream across the skies. The F-16 will also participate in an awe inspiring Heritage flight with the WWII vintage P-51 Mustang. Don’t miss an opportunity to see the greatest fighter of WWII side by side with one of the most technically advanced fighters of today. Come celebrate the Year of the Veteran! The 3-hour show will electrify audiences of all ages.

The Canadian International Air Show takes place Labour Day weekend, Saturday, September 3rd, Sunday, September 4th and Monday, September 5th over Lake Ontario off the CNE grounds.
