Transportation Volunteer

Reports To: Brad Bassingthwaite – Manager Transportation & Logistics

Number of Available Positions: Unlimited

Time Line: 

Start: Monday prior to Labor Day Weekend
End:   Friday following Labor Day Weekend

 Note: Preference will be given to people that will be available for the entire time span. However, you do not have to be available for the entire duration. Even single day volunteers are more than welcome and encouraged to apply.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect all vehicles as they are received from our supplier.
  • Chauffeur Performance Ground Crews and Pilots from Hotel to Airport on Air Show Days
  • Chauffeur VVIPs from Hotel to Waterfront on Air Show Days
  • Possibly fulfill role as Duty Driver after hours (only if staying in Hotel) and during evening functions at Hotel
  • Transport Jet Aircraft “SOAP” samples from Toronto Airport to CFB Trenton for Analysis
  • Ensure fleet is fueled and cleaned in preparation for return to supplier

Skills & Experience:

  • Must be 25 years of age to drive an Air Show Vehicle
  • Must have valid Ontario Drivers License
  • Very personable, friendly and outgoing
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of people
  • Work Well as Part of a team
  • Ability to react quickly to change
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to follow direction
  • Ability to handle emergencies in a calm and orderly manner
