Transportation Dispatcher

Reports To: Brad Bassingthwaite – Manager Transportation & Logistics

Time Line:

Start: Tues. following Labor Day Weekend
End:  Either Wed. or Thurs. following Labor Day Weekend (varies on dept. requirements)

Note: Preference will be given to people that will be available for the entire time span. However, you do not have to be available for the entire duration. Even single day volunteers are more than welcome and encouraged to apply.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparations of the Air Show Operations Room within the concerns of the Transportation & Logistics Department
  • Accept Receipts from Drivers to ensure that they drivers can be reimbursed, if required
  • Performing various administrative duties
  • Coordinating and routing drivers
  • Conduct driver de-briefs on a daily basis
  • Ensure all locations of all vehicles within fleet are known at all times
  • Ensure that inspections have been completed on all vehicle prior to issuing to drivers / performers
  • Insure that all driver license information is on file prior to issuing any vehicle to anyone
  • Issue vehicles to drivers / performers
  • Ensure all vehicles have been cleaned and fueled in preparation for return to supplier
  • Ensure that all radios are signed out to and collect from all drivers in Transportation Department on a daily basis.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must be proficient with computer use (particularly with Excel and Word)
  • Very personable, friendly and outgoing
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of people
  • Work Well as Part of a team
  • Ability to react quickly to change
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to follow direction
  • Ability to handle emergencies in a calm and orderly manner
